So, Becca started her senior year of high school. Our baby is about to be a legal adult. John is starting his senior year of college, and Charlie is starting his sophomore year at college. All three are growing up really fast. Can’t really help but feel pride, happiness, and melancholy all kinda rolled together. Despite any downer feelings I may have, though, I’m really excited to see where they go from here. I can’t wait to see what they do, where they go, and who they finally become. You go, kids!
I’ve sorta started a new hobby. A friend of mine that’s a RF fanboy started building out a Meshcore network. Mesh networks are based on LoRa radios, using inexpensive radio equipment (usually little solar powered repeaters) to build out networks that allow off-grid texting to friends and family. It’s pretty neat, and you can get into it really cheap. Here’s the repeater I built for my house. It’s not pretty, but it’s functional.

The solar panel is from a solar light I bought at Wal-Mart, and the other parts, glue, etc. didn’t cost much. The 18650 batteries I picked up at a vape shop. Found out they almost all use those. I think the most expensive part was the radio board, and that was less than $30. Anyway, it’s interesting.
Well, I’ll close this for now. I’ll post the kids’ senior pictures now that I have all three.
